Product Description:
Reactive Polyurethane Hot Melt Adhesive (commonly known as PUR) is a solid at room temperature. Before use, it is heated to a molten state for dispensing. It is a one-component, solvent-free, hot melt structural adhesive that develops high initial bonding strength through physical solidification. Subsequently, it reacts with ambient moisture (from the substrate or air), undergoing a chemical crosslinking process to form an elastomer. Once cured, it provides superior bonding strength and exhibits excellent moisture resistance, heat resistance, and chemical resistance.
PUR combines the environmental friendliness and fast bonding of hot melt adhesives, the high strength of reactive adhesives, and the elasticity and temperature resistance of polyurethane adhesives. With high reactivity and strong adhesion to a wide range of substrates, PUR is a versatile and reliable adhesive solution.
Pretreatment:
(1)Preheat adhesive to 120–130 °C for 20–30 minutes.
(2)Bonding surfaces must be clean, dry, and free of oil or grease.
(3)Recommended dispensing temperature: 130 °C.
(4)Air pressure: 2–6 Bar.
(5)Needle size: 19–23 gauge.
(6)The higher the temperature and air pressure, the greater the dispensing volume. Before dispensing, purge approximately 25 mm of adhesive.
(7)The adhesive exhibits a certain pressure-sensitive effect, providing sufficient assembly time..
Cleaning:
(1)After dispensing, allow adhesive to cool to room temperature before removing excess material from the edges.
(2)Any uncured adhesive residue can be removed with a blade.
(3)For wiping adhesive spots, use common cleaning solvents such as toluene or acetone.
(4)Residues must be cleaned before the adhesive cures..
Precautions:
(1)Do not reheat adhesive multiple times. Once opened, it must be used within 48 hours.
(2)Heating time should not exceed 48 hours.
(3)Application temperature should not exceed 140 °C.
(4)Handle with care to avoid burns.
Storage and Shelf Life:
(1)Store in vacuum-sealed aluminum foil bags..
(2)Keep in a dry environment at 15–25 °C..
(3)Unopened shelf life: 6 months.
Health and Safety:
(1)Refer to the Material Safety Data Sheet (MSDS) for proper handling and disposal instructions.
